The ingredients in our formulas carry the character of their landscapes and the work of the people who cultivate them.
We source through trusted suppliers and, where possible, build direct relationships with farmers. We believe there is value in being clear about that distinction. A thoughtful supply chain is not always the shortest one, but it should always be an honest one.
Transparency, plainly practiced.
When a Hartwood product is scented, we disclose the aromatic materials that shape its scent. We do not use “parfum” as a catchall to conceal a fragrance composition.
When an ingredient comes through a trusted supplier rather than directly from a farm, we say so. Transparency is not a marketing story told around the product; it is part of the product itself: clear labeling, considered sourcing, and straightforward information that makes informed choices easier.
We will continue to share what we know, acknowledge what we are still learning, and make sourcing decisions with both performance and responsibility in mind.

What it is: A lightweight botanical oil cold- pressed from the seeds of muscadine grapes, a grape native to the southeastern United States.
Why we use it: Chosen for its antioxidant profile, elegant slip and light, comfortable finish in oil-based formulas.
